Sarkodie

The Ghanaian hip-hop artist and songwriter dropped his fifth album, Highest, on 8 September 2017. The album has 19 tracks, and includes guests appearances by Jesse Jagz, Moelogo, Flavour and Ebony Reigns. Highest was developed primarily by Jayso. Other guest appearances include Ebony Reigns, Idris Elbo as well as Tekno. It was her first album with international superstars.

Sarkodie's career started as rapper from the underground. When he met his manager Duncan Williams of Duncwills Entertainment and attending an Adom FM rap competition. The competition brought him into Hammer in the Last Two, an established producer. Hammer was impressed by Sarkodie's hip-hop rap skills and agreed to let him record two tracks on Sarkodie's debut album. Sarkodie's musical career was on the rise and Sarkodie began to gain interest from record labels and his fans.

Sarkodie was born in Tema, Ghana, and was raised to the Harbour City, also known as Tema. He was raised by his mother, Emma Maame Aggrey. His mother is a strong supporter of Sarkodie's profession. Her father, Augustine Owusu Addo, is also identified as his father in law. It is interesting to note that the rapper spent more time with his mom than his dad as he grew to.

Sarkodie's discography includes over 100 singles and the release of nine albums. The album he released first, "I Am Born," was a worldwide hit and he's been on several other projects. When he was in 2010 he received numerous awards and was part of the legendary Ghana Cypher that was featured at the BET Hip Hop Awards. He is currently the only Ghanaian to win the award for Best International Flow. Alongside being a Grammy Award-winning artist, Sarkodie is also a father of two kids.

Twi the word "oofeetso" signifies "you are doing something too much" an appropriate reaction to those who criticize Sarkodie's success. The song has received global acclaim and has been a massive hit.

With his passion for humanitarian charity, Sarkodie has launched the Sarkodie Foundation to help underprivileged children. Along with donating clothing essentials to Royal Seed Home Orphanage, Sarkodie also helped children get school bags along with other essentials. In addition, he's been recognized by a variety of companies. Sarkodie's clothing line, Yas Clothing, has also been a major source of income.

Sarkodie is considered to be one the most talented performers in Africa. With a long-running career of more than a decade, he has been awarded numerous times and is among the top performers on the continent. Sarkodie has won 92 awards and is perhaps Africa's best rapper. His most notable accomplishments are numerous Grammy nominations the four GRAMMY Awards, and four Afropunk awards.
